Laterizio (Italian for brick) is a personal work which merges aspects of simplicity and complexity with material perception and production techniques.
Initially proposed in clay, as if it were an over-scaled brick, the project was abandoned due to production limitations. We explored similar graphic notions and techniques in other projects before returning to the original design with a simple and humble construction method, one much like bricklaying. The material choice of standard MDF holds true to the inspiration of unpretentious materials and continues a personal narrative about how materials are perceived differently through shape and form.
