La Fleur Fanée, a sculptural lamp entirely handcrafted, is a reflection on hope and the passage of time. The work captures the moment when a flower begins to wither. Carried by a moving figure, it still emits light,becoming a symbol of resilience in the face of change. Rooted in a universal theme, the lamp speaks to each individual in a personal and singular way.
This lamp represents a convergence of two rarely associated fabrication techniques. Gilding, an ancient practice refined over centuries, is combined with contemporary 3D printing technology, a modern tool offering complete freedom of form. Together, they result in a unique object that bridges artisanal craftsmanship and innovation.
Vincent Decat is a Paris-based artist and designer.
Graduated from the Design Academy of Eindhoven, he creates Collectible design pieces that integrate sculptural thinking into everyday use. His work is characterized by forms that suggest life and movement, pieces that seem to breathe or shift. These animal-like qualities transform functional objects into personal and engaging pieces. By creating pieces that feel almost alive, he encourages a relationship of care more than consumption.They become companions that people want to preserve and cherish over time.
